ShakeOut Past, Present, and Future...

2012 will be the first year of New Zealand ShakeOut, a drill designed to educate the public about how to protect themselves during a large earthquake, and how to get prepared. It will be the largest earthquake drill to ever take place in New Zealand. In 2009, a smaller drill was held along the New Zealand West Coast and attracted over 8,000 participants.

The ShakeOut website and registration system are services of SCEC, the Southern California Earthquake Center @ USC
